Tom Close, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) Ambassador in Rwanda has been assigned to work on a Kinyarwanda version of “Someday”, a song aimed at advocating for the rights of the children born with HIV/AIDS, and creating awareness of the epidemic.
“Someday”, originally composed in Swahili, English and Luganda, was written by Sliver Kyagulanyi, Uganda’s leading music composer and performed by a list of Ugandan artists, including Juliana Kanyomozi, Iryn Namubiru, and Blu3’s Lillian Mbabazi.
“I was asked to translate the song. I’m now through with the English translation, and yet to embark on the Kinya-rwanda version,” Tom told The New Times in an interview.
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is a public charity which “seeks to prevent paediatric HIV infections and to eradicate paediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs.
