Star Ways buses have poor services!

Editor, During the festive season I happened to travel to Uganda but I was very disappointed by the poor transport services offered by the new kid on the block ‘Star Ways bus company’. It is unbelievable that new buses, like the one I travelled on, could fail to make a single trip to Kampala without mechanical problems. Initially I had been advised by a friend that the buses that ply the Kampala-Kigali route normally have good services but I was surprised when we spent over 8 hours parked somewhere as we waited for mechanics to travel from Kigali and repair the old thing. Why should companies like these, which do not even have extra vehicles for emergencies, be allowed to operate? Do they even have any consideration for the customers, who has taken time to book in advance, and then be given terrible services? In this competitive era, which arrived with the EAC integration, I believe that all service providers should struggle to be at their best. Companies like these should stop their operations here so that we can keep the effective few. On hearing my story, a friend of mine also attested to this poor service, saying that this was not the first case of disappointment; she said that the same buses normally get such problems while travelling from Kenya.
