Mining firm donates goats

A local mining company Rutongo Mines, has donated 28 goats to residents of Rulindo district in the Northern Province in a move meant to economically empower them. The donation was made during the Ubusabane (get together) organized for the community around the mines. 

A local mining company Rutongo Mines, has donated 28 goats to residents of Rulindo district in the Northern Province in a move meant to economically empower them. The donation was made during the Ubusabane (get together) organized for the community around the mines. 

Speaking during the function, the Managing Director of Rutongo Mines, Peter Olivier, called upon the residents of Rulindo district to adopt a saving culture and also start up small income generating businesses.

The mayor of Rulindo Justus Kangwage commended the company for taking the initiative to give back to the community staying around the mines.
