KAYONZA – The district stands to gain more revenue from the newly constructed Taxi Park after it struck a deal with ATRACO management to remit a percentage of the revenue to the district.
The move comes amid allegations that ATRACO was reaping off the district.
The Kayonza district director of finance, Jerome Kivininka said, “We agreed that they will be paying us 20% of the park collections. This is big money, compared to the 30,000 francs they used to pay us.”
“We know for example that they must be getting more than they have been declaring.”
Residents say the new clean and relatively modern Taxi Park is likely to end the commotion, which had characterised the open place where taxis used to park.
