SILVERBACKS caretaker coach Gerald Nsenga has been boosted with the return to fitness of fly-half Lucien Bikamba and center forward Olivier Uwamahoro ahead of Saturday’s Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) match against Burundi’s national side ‘Intambwe’.
Bikamba has recovered from typhoid while Uwamahoro has shaken off a nagging ankle injury.
With the pair back in contention, Silverbacks interim coach Gerard Nsenga believes that the team has enough fire power to see off the Burundians.
“We are delighted by the fact that they will be available for the game. Bikamba will start training this afternoon while Uwamahoro returns tomorrow,” Nsenga said yesterday.
The return leg will be played on December 19 in Bujumbura with the winner over the two-legged contest going on to play either Tanzania or Mauritius.
The venue for Saturday’s tie is yet to be confirmed with Red Cross grounds and Green hills being the most likely options.
