RWANDA’S national rugby team – the Silverbacks are fairly contended with the Prinsloo Nakuru 7s draw. The team, which left for Kenya yesterday morning, is drawn in Pool E alongside the Kenyan trio of Impala, Mean Machines and Kenya Polytechnic.
“We have been drawn with good teams but with the training we have had, we know that we have a good chance of progressing to the knock out stage,” Silverbacks’ caretaker coach Gerard Nsenga said.
Silverbacks, who are missing three key players (Center backs Lucien Rikamba, Olivier Uwamahoro and center proper Eric Mbarushimana) are reeling to better Buffaloes’ quarter-final finish last year.
“Buffaloes did well last year but we want to better that performance,” the team’s delegation head Alexis Araire said.
Other high profile teams in the two-day event which charges off this Saturday at Nakuru Athletic Club include defending champions Mwamba, Harlequins, Kenya 7s circuit leaders Nakuru and Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).
