The long awaited ‘Kigali by Night’ photo exhibition was launched on Thursday evening at Shokola café, in Kiyovu, and will go for 10 days.
Speaking at the event, the founder of Shokola, Amin Gafaranga said that the exhibition is the first of its kind to exhibit professionally taken abstract photos of Kigali City.
The exhibited photographs are of different land marks of Kigali at night.
“The purpose of the exhibition is to promote our inspiring city using a modern form of art,” said Gafaranga. “So every picture was uniquely captured to portray a different look, beauty and energy of the new Kigali at night.”
Raphael Cardinael, a professional photographer took all the featured photographs and Shokola café commissioned the project which was sponsored by MTN.
According to Gafaranga, the photos are special because they are abstract therefore not only display exceptional photo skills but show creativity and uniqueness of each piece.
“Shokola is planning to produce a selection of these photos into postcards for visitors and tourists,” Gafaranga said.
