Editor, It saddens me to find out that only six per cent of Rwandans subscribe to the Social Security Fund of Rwanda (SSFR). While this statistic saddens me, it doesn’t really surprise me as well. After all, how many people are in formal employment? I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that it’s a tiny minority of the country’s population. Instead of worrying about this statistic, maybe what the relevant officers should do is to sensitize people about the advantages of saving their money with the SSFR. If people realise the advantages, then they shall flock to the SSFR officers. Ends
