RWANDA’S contingent for this weekend’s Club Beer international beach volleyball tournament at Entebbe’s Lido Resort Beach left for Uganda this morning.

The eight-man team was led by Rwanda’s beach volleyball kings Flavien Ndamukunda (In pic) and Jean Luc Mbonyuwontuma.

Others on the team included Fidele Nyirimana and Eric Gakwaya and two female teams; Emilienne Uwineza-Jeannette Niyigena and Yvette Igihozo- Denise Mutatsimpundu.

After sweeping the Mombassa International beach volleyball tournament back in August and pocketing a cash prize of Rwf370,000, Ndamukunda and Mbonyuwontuma, who have been training vigorously in Rubavu are eager to put in a replica display.

The two-day event will attract participants from Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda and hosts Uganda, with the preliminary round being played tomorrow.
