Editor, The EAC member country’s joint military training should be praised for it is the main mechanism that will halt the various present day and future conflicts. Once this East African standby force is formed, I believe that it will end the internal displacement of people and hunger caused by conflict. The reality is that a single rebel group can cause untold suffering and end up destroying everything that the EAC stands for; dialogue, development and peace. It is security that will give the region its peace and development. Armies in member countries should work together to secure their borders if the EAC is to be relevant to the people.
