Saturday saw yet another Cobra Milestone. The famous Cadillac proprietor launched his Mama Africa Restaurant over the weekend, in a strictly invitation ceremony.
The ceremony kicked-off with a cocktail that saw guests being treated to an assortment of drinks from juice cocktails to liquors, beers and various cocktails.

The event was well attended, RDB’s Rosette Chantal Rugambwa, President’s Chief of Protocol Rose Kabuye and her family, Bralirwa’s Commercial Director Alexander Koch didn’t miss. The New Times team of female journalists were also among many others.

The drinks were flowing as one by one the guests arrived dressed smartly for the occasion. Cobra and his wife were dressed in white African garb.

Cobra particularly made each of his guests feel at home, as he moved from table to table exchanging pleasantries.

When the time for his speech came, Cobra, who is obviously not accustomed to public speaking, briefly thanked his guests for joining him for yet another milestone but he particularly pointed out Braliwa, which had contributed to making the night memorable.

He (Cobra) then gave his guests the much anticipated tour of Mama Africa Restaurant, an African themed innovation that left most of us pleasantly surprised.

The restaurant is located where former Cadillac VIP was. However, Cobra this time around added an extension to the building and employed the best African theme that many of us haven’t seen anywhere in Rwanda before.

For those who have been in Kampala, Mama Africa Restaurant is somewhere around the likes of former Blue Mango restaurant in Bukoto.

The DJ of the night did not disappoint anyone, as he took us through a variety of selections; zouk, rumba and slows. The night was wrapped with a hefty dinner.

By the time guests started thinking of leaving the Mama Africa gardens, the clock was ticking towards 1.00 am. And, that’s how the launch of Mama Africa Restaurant went.
