FDLR abducts clergymen
A priest and a seminarian were kidnapped in Eastern DR Congo, Friday night, during an attack on a parish by the FDLR.
According to a Congolese military official, the rebels demanded a ransom of $5,000.
The attack occurred in the town of Ciherano in Walungu territory, South Kivu.
A priest and a seminarian, both Congolese, were abducted after the militias burned their homes.
According to the Col. Delphin Kahimbi, of the Congolese army, the FDLR are turning into kidnappers as way of looking for survival.
Low turn up of voters in Nyagatare
Over the weekend residents of Gasinga cell in Nyagatare district turned up in low numbers for the elections for Cell Advisory Council, according to the district officials.
The elections took place countrywide over the weekend.
According to the officials the residents were not mobilized and some were uninformed about the elections.
RPF meet over achievements in Gasabo
The members of Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) met in Kimuhurura sector in Gasabo district to discuss the achievements registered since 2008.
Among the achievement celebrated included restoration of unity and reconciliation in the sector.
Godfrey Muyango, the chairman of RPF in the sector urged the members to prepare themselves for the coming elections and support RPF candidates.
The meeting also aimed laying strategic development plans for the sector.
