Liberia national football team, Lone Stars touch down this afternoon ahead of their nations’ cup qualifier against Amavubi stars this Saturday.

Ferwafa’s Chief Executive Officer, Jules Kalisa told Times Sport yesterday that the Lone Stars will reside at Alpha Palace hotel till their nations’ cup qualifier.

“The Liberians will reside at Alpha Palace hotel and hold their training sessions at Amahoro Stadium,” Kalisa said.
Meanwhile, Amavubi Stars have been boasted by the arrival of Olivier Karekezi, Saidi Abedi Makasi and goal custodian Ramadhan Nkunzingoma.

The professionals have since joined the team’s camp in Gisenyi.

Karekezi who features for Sweden’s top division club Helsingborg arrived Tuesday night aboard SN Brussels while Abedi and Nkunzingoma who feature for Maccabi Herzliya (Israel) and TP Mazembe (D.R.Congo) respectively jetted in yesterday morning.

Amavubi Stars’ coach Michael Nees is expected to name the final squad of 20 players for Liberia tie tomorrow.  Rwanda lost their first leg tie against Liberia 2-3 in Monrovia and have a lot of homework to do this Saturday.

Rwanda, with three points at the bottom of the group V after four qualifying ties, will need a win in the last home game to win back the fans.

Cameroon 2-1 over Rwanda in Douala two months ago was enough to see the continent’s soccer giants through to the 2008 Ghana African Nations Cup.
