Too lazy to live our own lives

Our long gone ancestors who departed from this great land would die of shock if they happened to pay us a surprise visit today. They’d knock at the door and no one would open for them, the gate keeper would be too blazed to hear them.

Our long gone ancestors who departed from this great land would die of shock if they happened to pay us a surprise visit today. They’d knock at the door and no one would open for them, the gate keeper would be too blazed to hear them.

Sneaking in, the lewd and lascivious woman, the supposed mother, is glued to a TV set watching her favourite soap, while the house maid listens to the radio on her cheap phone without a care in the world.

The unfortunate children are baffled as no one seems to notice their existence.

Storming out, they’d   land on the husband and other bunches of able bodied adult male human beings hanging around big TV screens guzzling mugs and mugs of beer while cheering and shouting happily, showing their love and devotion to dozens of pale skinned men chasing a small ball on a big field.

“Aren’t these men supposed to be at home with their sons and daughters molding them into worthy citizens, teaching them the history of their land, about the great warriors of yesterday who fought many wars protecting this continent?” They would worriedly wonder.

A few blocks away, the uncle, aunty and hundreds of other miserable people have paid huge amounts of money to the uptight characters that earn a living by making sad citizens laugh. They are anxiously waiting for their monthly dosage. According to the way things are going, they badly need to be able to laugh or at least smile even if for just a few minutes.

Folks somewhere else are busy getting their money’s worth ‘working out a sweat’.

You see, with their ways of living, they can’t afford even a single drop of natural sweat; they pay ‘sweat experts’ to help them sweat at sweat places called gyms.

“Who are these people?’  The ancestors would ask themselves. They definitely can’t be our descendants, people who are so lazy they pay strangers to live their lives? Cut their finger nails, wash their hair, cook their food, and raise their babies.

People who answer nature’s calls in the house, need weather men to know which way the wind blows?  Lord have mercy!
