PSF district officials get business skills

About 30 private sector officials from selected districts have been trained in business skills.

About 30 private sector officials from selected districts have been trained in business skills.

The officials from Rubavu, Musanze, Huye and Nyagantare districts were on Friday awarded certificates after completing a two-week training at Nyamata in Bugesera District.

Gerald Mukubu, the Private Sector Federation chief advocating officer, said the training aimed at equipping the officials with basics skills in business communication, feedback evaluation, negotiation skills and market analysis.

“We want our people to understand what’s going on in the business world. How they manage the competitive business world will depend on these skills,” Mukubu noted.

He added that it was important for the private sector to understand the reforms in business laws and how they can benefit from them as entrepreneurs.

“The government is currently conducting a lot of business reforms, so our members need to know the implication on their businesses and how they can negotiate better deals for their businesses,” Mubuku said.

Christopher Karorero, the chairman of the Private Sector Federation in Huye District, said the training will help the district leaders to moderate business from a more informed perspective.

The training was supported by the Germany Technical Co-operation (GIZ), the Private Sector Federation and the Rwanda Development Board.
