Why dogs chase rabbits

Long time ago in the animal kingdom, all animals lived together in harmony and all seemed to be well. Dogs and rabbits were the best friends in their society and they had sought a special residence where they had stayed together for a very long time as confidants. The dog had entirely trusted his friend and would tell him all the secrets of the kingdom Meetings. The rabbit had been banned from such gatherings because he would leak information to the outsiders. For so long the rabbits had grown large in population almost out numbering all the other animals. Dogs had the smallest number in the kingdom despite reproducing like all the rest of the animals. They didn’t know what would happen to their young ones. Mr. Rabbit had dug a bottomless pit in his bed room and spread a mat over it. He would monitor whenever the dog was away and invite the puppies into the room. He told them to sit on the mat so he could give them their best meals and they ended up falling into the pit which reduced number of dogs. Mother dog never knew what made her puppies disappear. One day the hyena, a close neighbor got to know about the rabbit’s cruelty and informed the dog. Without the rabbit’s knowledge, the dog hid under the rabbit’s bed to prove it himself. In no minute, the rabbit brought in the only remaining puppy. Before he could sit on the mat, the dog jumped out of the bed aiming at the rabbit’s throat. But the rabbit was faster in movement so he managed to escape. The dog tried to run after him but he could not catch him and from that day, the dog still wants to punish the rabbit and they will never be friends again. Ends
