STORY CORNER: The bad Lion King

Once upon a time, in a forest far away, there was an evil Lion King. He was so lazy that he did not hunt for food. One day he pretended to be sick so that he would trick other animals and eat them. Since he was the king of the forest, he ordered all the animals to come and visit him.

Once upon a time, in a forest far away, there was an evil Lion King. He was so lazy that he did not hunt for food. One day he pretended to be sick so that he would trick other animals and eat them. Since he was the king of the forest, he ordered all the animals to come and visit him.

The first animal to come and visit was Hyena. As soon as Hyena appeared, he entered the house and unfortunately, he was eaten up by the evil lion king. Next to visit was Fox who was also eaten.

Soon, Leopard, Porcupine, Bear and Squirrel were all eaten up. This happened for a while until other animals started wondering what had become of their comrades.

One day the slow tortoise decided to go and visit the lion and find out what had happened. When Tortoise arrived at the lion’s house, he stopped and observed all the animals’ footmarks that had entered the king’s house.

Tortoise wondered why not a single animal’s footmarks showed that they had come out of the house. That was when he realised that the king was eating up the animals.

He run away as fast as he could because he did not want to be eaten by the lion. He told all the other animals in the forest not to visit Lion because he would eat them.

The forest animals decided that enough was enough. They planed with other good lions to overthrow the evil and lazy lion king.

They went like an army and surrounded the lion’s house. Since he had eaten many animals and just stayed sleeping, the evil lion had become too fat to run away.

The animals arrested him and put him in jail where he could not eat other animals. He stayed there for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, a new Lion king was elected and there was a party in the forest for weeks. The animals were celebrating because they were once again safe.
