The light that shines from within you

A long time ago, there was a wise man who was a porter, living in the courts of a certain king. One day when he was moving around the courts doing his work, the king called him to ask him about something that had been bothering him for a long time. The king asked him, “By what light do human beings go out, do their work and return?” The porter answered, “By the light of the sun” The king then asked, “But when the light of the sun is not there, by what light do human beings go out, do their work and return?” The porter replied, “By the light of the moon.” The king asked again, “When the light of the moon is not there by what light do human beings go out, do there work and return?” “By the light of the stars.” answered the porter. The king continued and asked, “If the stars are quenched, by what light will people go out, do their work and return?” The porter replied “By the light of fire.” But the king said, “But if the fire itself is put out, by what light will people go out do their work and still live?” The porter simply replied “By the light that is within us.” The king finally got some peace of mind because he now understood that he had a light that shines from within him. Every person has this light that shines from within and it was put in them by God when he created man. That is why we are called Children of God because we are part of Him. Ends
