The RDRC has built Integrated Production Workshops across the country to help disabled ex-combatants generate income. So far ten Production Workshops have been built in the areas of Nyarugunga in Kicukiro district, Rusheshe in Masaka district, Muyumbu in Rwamagana district, Rutaraka in Nyagatare district, Murehe in Rwamagana district, Ruhango district, Susa in Musanze district, Karongi district, Mutobo in Musanze district and Karangazi in Nyagatare district. All this would enable disabled ex-combatants benefit economically thus reducing poverty.
The living examples are disabled ex-combatants in Susa village in Musanze District where Production Workshop is booming.
Notably, the Integrated Production workshops are out to improve the living standards of disabled ex-combatants. For example the Susa Production Workshop entails various economic activities including; boutique, saloon, canteen and a public hall for public events such as weddings, super sports, cinema and seminars.
The above mentioned activities will enable beneficiaries generate income for improving their livelihoods. The disabled ex-combatants in Susa village and others from different parts of the country are set to benefit from the mentioned Integrated Production Workshops.
The activities will be sustainable and continue helping disabled ex-combatants in the future. Currently Suza Production workshop is still in its early stages waiting to attract customers and operate fully to ensure development.
