Items worth Rwf 4 million were donated to a total of 110 families plus a contribution of Rwf 500,000 towards the maintenance and preservation of the remains at the Genocide Memorial site in Bigogwe.

The RSSB delegation led by Dr. Daniel Ufitikirezi, the Director General of the social security body, also pledged to renovate 58 old houses belonging to vulnerable genocide survivors in the cell.

Dr. Ufitikirezi said they will renovate the houses with the support of Rubavu District and CNLG authorities. ‘‘These authorities will help us to identify families and other technical aspects; we are hopeful that the beneficiaries will get their houses rehabilitated by end of this year or early next year,’’ RSSB boss said.
