Yesterday, Prime Minister Edouard Ngirente presided over the national celebrations for the National Day of Harvest, commonly known as Umuganura that were held in Nyanza District.

The event, which was attended by senior government officials, security personnel and residents of Nyanza District and surrounding areas, was also used as a platform to celebrate the achievements registered in the country in different sectors.

We bring to you in pictures what transpired in Nyanza where thousands gathered to mark the national celebrations.

Heads of security forces in Southern region were also part of the Umuganura festivities. 

Traditional foodstuffs like beans and corn were on display.

Irish potatoes were also displayed at the celebrations in Nyanza. 

Sorghum is another traditional delicacy.

The stadium was full to capacity as thousands gathered to participate in Umuganura national festivities in Nyanza District. 

Traditional livestock breed Inyambo were also on display in Nyanza during the Umuganura celebrations.
