Patient Bizimana to be the 1st gospel artist to perform on Iwacu Muzika today

Patient Bizimana is set to be the first gospel artist to headline Iwacu Muzika Festival today since its commencement a month ago in a new format.

The previous performing artists included secular artists and Gakondo stars like Masamba Intore, Mariya Yohana, Mani Martin and Queen Cha among others.

Bizimana said he could not for this Saturday, July 25, to be on the stage performing again for the first time in more than five months in a concert that will be live-streamed for all to enjoy. Music concerts and other related events have been suspended due to the New Coronavirus outbreak.

“We are going to share wonderful moments this Saturday, it has been a long time without having any concerts. So, it will be pleasure to perform for my fans and music lovers once again after a while,” he told The New Times in an interview.

Originally, Bizimana had planned for his annual Easter Celebration Concert in Kigali, but the COVID-19 made it impossible to hold the show. The gospel artiste is glad of another opportunity to appear on the stage.

“As you might know, we usually hold the annual Easter celebration concert every April, but due to COVID-19, we were not able to do so. Hence, we have a reason to celebrate for this performance and the gospel lovers are really going to enjoy every moment,” he added.

Alongside Bizimana’s main performance, the fans will enjoy a bunch of other activities, including a comedy session with Clapton Kibonge, The Blessings Family gospel dance, Epiphany Uwayezu, an Art-Rwanda Ubuhanzi participant, among others.

The concert will start at 20h45 and will be streamed on Rwanda Television.

Bizimana’s most popular hits include, “Menye Neza”, “Ikimenyetso”, “Mana Yanjye”, and “Ubwo buntu”.

The “Amagambo yanjye” hit maker has been performing in church since he was young, and has been actively involved in church ministry for the past four years.

Iwacu Muzika Festival this year is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Art-Rwanda Ubuhanzi and Bank of Kigali while East African Promoters (EAP) organises the shows.
