Miss Rwanda 2020: Illness forces Ingabire out of boot camp

Miss Rwanda 2020 contestant Jolie Ange Ingabire has pulled out of the beauty contest due to illness.

Miss Rwanda 2020 contestant Jolie Ange Ingabire has pulled out of the beauty contest due to illness, organisers announced on Monday.

“Miss Rwanda Organisation announces with regret that contestant Ingabire Jolie Ange will be unable to continue contesting for Miss Rwanda 2020 due to illness. We wish Ingabire a speedy recovery,” read a Twitter statement from Miss Rwanda.

Though he could not specify Ingabire’s illness, Dieudonne Ishimwe, the pageant organizer, told The New Times that she has been sick since Sunday and was unable to continue to participate in the competition.

“She has gone home for further medical treatment. In a competition, like at school, when you are sick, you go home so they can take care of your health,” Ishimwe said.

Ingabire, who was representing the Southern Province, was among the 20 contestants at the boot camp since February 9 at La Palisse Hotel, Nyamata.

She pulled out of the ongoing beauty contest just five days before the winner was announced.

The grand finale takes place this Saturday, February 22, at Intare Conference Arena in Rusororo sector, Gasabo District.
