Bravo to ex-Miss NUR
Word reaching us is that of former Miss National University of Rwanda (NUR) Carine Rusaro Utamuliza’s busy schedule did not end with her term. She has been participating in road safety campaigns and has been on the invited guests’ lists of various official functions.
She has an impressive profile: Miss Campus 2007 at National University of Rwanda, 1st Runner-Up during the Festival Panafricain de Musique (FESPAM) 2007 in Congo-Brazzaville, and 1st Runner-Up in the Miss Tourism of the Millennium in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.
During her term of service, Rwanda took the 10th spot on an international level among 113 countries (1st among Africans). She was also crowned 1st Runner-Up Miss Elegance and 1st in Africa on internet votes (Miss Internet) in the same contest. Way to go Utamuliza.
Film ‘Avenir’ changes name
Latest on our grapevine is that of a new documentary which has changed its original name. The film commonly known as ‘Avenir’, has changed its name to Rwanda, le jour ou’ Dieu etait parti en voyage.
According to those in the know, the film is about the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
It’s also buzzed that our own local music star Ruth Nirere, a.k.a Miss Shanel, is among the main characters. The documentary started its shootings June, 2008, and is yet to be officially launched.
Snoops say that the 23-year-old beauty has just returned from Belgium and Paris on a special assignment to test the sound of the movie clip. Will there be a further change in name and probably script? Who knows?
DJ Focus back to B-Club
Well, recently we reported that he had quit the posh club. True, but word on the street has it that the dreadlocked pioneer DJ of B-Club is back to his job as its DJ.
In fact, rumour has it that it’s now over two weeks since he made the U-turn. It’s also rumoured that his return was due to the exodus of his many fans. Will the fans make a U-turn as well? Maybe our snoops will update us.
