REFERENCE IS made to the story, “UN resolution: Genocide deniers left in checkmate” (The New Times, April 18).
This is the first step in the right direction. If the global body never learnt from what happened in Rwanda and gave its true meaning, then who learnt?
It’s therefore encouraging to see that the UN Security Council is leading from the front to prevent future similar atrocities. Member countries should also step up efforts to track down, arrest and help bring to justice those behind the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Let these resolutions guide our efforts to bring every fugitive to justice, that is central to the fulfillment of the promise of “never again”. Bravo to Rwandan Mission to the UN and to the Government of Rwanda for pushing through the latest UNSC Resolution.
