President Paul Kagame today toured income-generating activities in Rutongo, Rulindo District where he also addressed thousands of residents who turned up to welcome him.
Among the development activities he toured include mining and farming.
He praised those behind the district’s development and urged them to double their efforts.
“It’s not only you who benefit from what you do, it’s the entire country,” the President told cheering crowds.
The President called on the residents of Rulindo and Rwandans in general to work hard to increase productivity, saying the sky was the limit.
Kagame promised the district residents continued Government support to help them increase production in as many sectors.
Rutongo is home to some of Rwanda’s largest mining companies, including Rutongo Mines, the recipient of the first ever conflict-free minerals certificate issued by the International Conference for the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
