Second division side Rwamagana FC came from behind to beat National University of Rwanda on penalties to set a Peace Cup clash against holders AS Kigali in the 1/16th round.
The Eastern Province outfit conceded three first half goals but made a magnificent comeback that saw them score three times in the second half to take the game into penalties, which they won 6-5.
Besides AS Kigali, APR and Rayon Sports will also face second division oppositions; Akagera and Sunrise when the knockout phase starts on March 18.
It’s only in the last 16 and last eight that teams play over two legs.
League champions Rayon Sports are likely to meet AS Kigali in the 1/8 with the winner to face APR in the 1/4 should all three teams manage to progress.
Police also face a stern test against Mukura in the 1/8 should they manage to progress. The final will be played on July 4. Last year, AS Kigali easily walked over AS Muhanga in the final with a 3-0 victory to lift the cup for the second time in the club’s history.
