Preparations for the highly anticipated ‘K Unplugged’ party are in final touches as Kigali’s party animals anxiously wait for one of the biggest parties in the city this year.
Set for Friday, October 25, ‘K Unplugged’ is organised by 98.7 KFM and will feature all local artistes, who have been prominent on the radio’s music playlist throughout 2013.
According to Eliud Kagema, the Programme’s Director at the Kigali City Tower-based radio, the party whose theme is, “Glamour Amplified”, is aimed at bringing artistes and their fans together in an entertaining atmosphere.
“We will have almost all artistes whose songs have enjoyed good air play this year, from established ones to upcoming artistes and they will be performing right in front of their fans,” Kagema says.
The fans will also have an opportunity to network not only with the artistes but also their favourite presenters.
It has been planned to be one of the biggest parties this year and it has also received ample advertising. The station has used Facebook and Twitter to publicize the show and if it is anything to go by, a big number of the over 29, 000 KFM Facebook fans say they cannot wait for the party.
Some of the artistes to perform on the day include Jay Polly, King James, Riderman, Paccy, Ciney, Urban Boys, Dream Boys, Knowless, Christopher, Tom Close, Fireman, Bruce Melodie, Uncle Austin, TBB and new boys on the block Active, among others.
All KFM presenters including Ginty, MC Tino, Austin, Sandrine Isheja Butera and Arthur Nkusi will also be at the show conducting live interviews with the artistes and other invited guests as part of the plan to make the event ‘more interactive’.
Nkusi, a member of the Comedy Knights is also expected to add a touch of comedy to the show as well as many other surprises.
The show will start at 6pm on Friday at Gikondo Expo Grounds.
