The local football governing body, Ferwafa’s president Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura has promised to settle the differences that exit between his organisation and the national Olympics committee.

While appearing on Voice of Africa’s sports talk show, Kazura said that he is unaware of any differences between Ferwafa and the Rwanda National Olympics Committee.

There has been bad blood between the two sports organisations with many saying that Ferwafa is outside RNOC’s jurisdiction.

This stems from the numerous invitations that RNOC has been sending to Ferwafa to attend RNOC’s general assemblies but no official from the football body turns up for the meeting.

“I’m not aware of any problem that exits between Ferwafa and the Olympics committee and if its there we will talk about it with RNOC officials” Kazura said.

The jovial football administrator cracked a joke saying that the differences may be very minimum that RNOC may not even be aware.

During last year’s RNOC general assembly, the seat that was reserved for Ferwafa delegations was occupied by journalists who had turned up to cover the event.

Kazura who is marking three years in the office won the local soccer governing body Federation of Rwanda Football Associations (Ferwafa) presidential elections with an overwhelming 100% vote, count - 92 out of 92.

The local Olympics committee has of recent faced criticism with the Minister of Sports and Culture, Joseph Habineza attributing the ineffectiveness of the committee to poor administration.

RNOC is an independent institution with the responsibility of catering and developing all sports disciplines in their sector considering their four-year budget drawn from the International Olympic Committee.

The blunt talking Minister suggested that for RNOC to be proficient, effective administrators must be put in office and professional managers whose vision is aimed at improving the image of sports should be given a chance to exercise their potentials.

Recently,in a stunning revelation it was revealed that RNOC and her member federations are operating illegally.

Of all the twenty federations which constitute the local Olympic committee, it’s only the Karate (Ferwaka) and chess (Ferwade) federations which meet the new drafted rules and regulations.

The others including the local football governing body (Ferwafa), the volleyball federation (FRVB) and Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC) are still operating under the 1987 law.
The incumbent administration’s two four-year terms in office expired late last year.

After realising that only two federations are legally operating in Rwanda, the election date for the next RNOC executive committee will be known when all federation meet the legal requirements.

Beraho declared his intentions of not running for another term after another disastrous Olympic Games campaign in Beijing.
