Amavubi Stars defender Salomon Nirisarike scored his second goal in Belgium’s second division league as Royal Antwerp Fc walloped RWDM Brussels 4-1 on Saturday at Stade Bosuilstadion.

The 20-year-old central defender scored the third goal in the 69th minute with a clear header off John Bostock’s corner. Bostok, Kevin Tano and Jordan Faucher were also on the scoresheet. Congolese Ibrahim Some Salombe scored the consolation goal for Brussels.

The win lifted Antwerp to fourth position on the standings with 24 points, four points behind leaders Mouscron-Péruwelz in 11 matches played this season. Antwerp plays away to third-placed Westerlo on Sunday, Royal Boussu Dour Borinage on Oct. 26 and KSV Roeselare on Nov. 2 in their next three fixtures. Nirisarike is among key Rwandan young players based in Europe that Amavubi will be banking on for 2015 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers.
