Twelve national volleyball coaches have claimed level two coaching badges after passing a two-week coaching course at the weekend at Amahoro stadium.

The course, designed to enhance the technical abilities of local volleyball coaches, was organised by Rwanda Volleyball Federation in partnership with the International Volleyball Federation.

However four trainees failed the course, which was facilitated by international instructor Tarah Boukef from Tunisia.

Those who passed and effectively graduated to another level include Louis Musilikali, Joseph Tuyishime, Marie Chantal Kabila and Eugene Ngendahayo.

Others are Florien Siborurema, Elie Mutabazi, Jean Paul Mana, Jean Luc Ndayikengurukiye, Christian Hatumimana, Florent Habyarimana, Elie Manirarora and Christophe Serugo.

The Rwanda Volleyball Federation chairman Gustave Nkurunziza said, “The onus now lies with these coaches to go out there and promote the game through training young players.”

“The capacity of local coaches has improved drastically and such training opportunities should elevate their standards further. We need more players from you (coaches), it is up to you to help upcoming players and to promote the game at the grassroots,” added Nkurunziza.
