TURKISH construction company Babil Group has pledged to continue sponsoring the Super Cup which pits together the league and Peace Cup title winners.
Speaking to Saturday Sport yesterday, the Head of International Development, Mustafa Cem Ozdemir said, “We will continue to support Super Cup every year because we want it to be part of the development of Rwandan football.”
“Besides the Super Cup, we also want to help young Rwandan footballers between the ages of 18-22 to have a chance of playing in Turkey,” added Ozdemir.
This year’s inaugural Super Cup match will be contested by league champions Rayon Sport and Peace Cup against Malaria winners AS Kigali tomorrow at Stade de Kigali.
On top of the Rwf25m to make the match possible, Babil Group will also provide team jerseys and t-shirts, medals and the trophy.
The winner will walk away with Rwf5m and the runners-up will take home Rwf2m, while the rest of the money will go into organising the event.
