Rwanda’s national carrier Rwandair Express, stuck to its earlier promise yesterday when it flew Emmanuel Ruterana to Uganda where he is expected to take part in this year’s Crane Bank Open Golf tournament.
On joining the sport’s professional ranks early this year, Rwandair’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manzi Kayihura vowed to foot the golfer’s transport expenses at international competitions as part of the company’s support to help the 22-year-old take his game to a higher level.
On top of Rwandair’s contribution, Ruterana’s chief sponsors; BCR also parted with US$400 to make his trip a success.
“We hope that our package will help him settle in Uganda and compete comfortably,” BCR’s marketing manager Hannington Namara said.
Teeing off tomorrow morning, this year’s Crane Bank edition is expected to attract a big professional golf fraternity from the region.
