Germany has fallen into France’s trap

Dear Editor,

I would like to inform German authorities that arresting Rose Kabuye, the Director of State Protocol, grossly insulted Rwandans and African governments in general. Such an act leaves us doubting a lot about the independence of Germany.

I believe these authorities should know that Kabuye is not a criminal but a liberator. She was part of the Rwandans who stopped the 1994 Genocide, while the entire Europe looked on.

Frances’s wish is that other European Union countries like Germany also share the guilt of the 1994 Rwanda Genocide.

French government soldiers under the Mitterand regime together with the late Habyarimana’s presidential guards were busy safeguarding the airport at the time of the plane crash. They should, therefore be held responsible for downing the presidential plane, not the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA).

By the way, where are the telex messages from the control tower? Who took the ribbons? Where are the people who were in the control tower by the time the plane crushed? Finally, the biggest question is—where is the Blackbox and its contents, fourteen years down the road?

Prior to 1994, the French army fought alongside EX-FAR against RPF. The French army later withdrew from the RPA firepower to Goma in former Zaire, where they promised more logistical and financial assistance to defeated EX-FAR genociders.

Right from the 1990’s the French government had also been sending troops to bolster the Habyarimana regime. It is in fact the same French soldiers who taught the interahamwe dangerous tactics of killing many Tutsis (10 people in 3 minutes) using rudimentary tools.

This is what the genociders implemented and within only 100 days, over one million people were killed.

France has caused a lot of suffering to Rwanda. The EU should dig deeper into these issues before arresting anyone, based on France’s warrants.
