Should schools send latecomers back home?

Editor,

Refer to the story, “Late coming in school: Should students be sent back home?” (Education Times, September 3). I only see the students’, parents’, and teachers’ comments and I think that the author of this article should have also shared his own opinions and views about the subject.

I do think that schools should limit tardy students because they are the future of this nation.

Schools need to discuss with parents right from admission time of their children, and sign a school handbook with all the school guidelines for which every student takes a copy.

Parents should also submit notifications to the administrators whenever a student missed school—and the teacher of those periods should be informed.

But I agree there are some emergencies and that humanity must prevail sometime in schools.
