Local companies have competitively learnt how to brand and advertise their products in the market.
These were remarks of the President of the Private Sector Federation, Robert Bayigamba during the closing ceremony of the recent Rwanda 11th International Trade Fair.
“I was very impressed by branding and advertising made by local companies this year,” Bayigamba said.
“It was good and a sign that companies were ready and do understand the essence of publicising their products.
Most companies had all their products professionally packaged in their stands.
Through the exhibition, Bayigamba said that he recognised that the private sector has improved its customer care services.
PSF awarded companies that performed better in exhibiting their products and services.
The areas considered most included customer care, sales, branding and advertising.
MTN Rwandacell beat all exhibitors scooping the prize for the best overall exhibitor for the 7th time.
Egypt and Kenya led the foreign exhibitors table.
MTN’s Chief Operations Officer Andrew Rugege says the mathematics behind performing better is having a new product every year and proper strategies to receive the highest traffic on the stand and the stand outlook.
MTN launched their new and cheapest mobile phone called Karasharamye (ZTE) that was massively bought.
The awards are meant to appreciate the exhibitors’ participation and encouraging others to perform better next year.
The expo that ended on Monday attracted 93 international and 217 local exhibitors.
