Multitudes of Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) supporters from the sectors of Rusororo, Gatsata and Kimironko, in Gasabo district yesterday gathered at Bambino, a recreation centre in Kabuga, to show support to the three Parliamentary candidates from the three sectors.

The crowd, many having trekked long distances to exhibit their solidarity, kept chanting RPF songs as they enthusiastically waved the party’s banners and flags.

The candidates, whose support was shored up during this occasion, are Rose Kayumba from Kimironko, Christine Gahamanyi from Gatsata and Bernard Tugume contesting for Rusororo, all from Gasabo district.

“This occasion is yet another continuation of the RPF tradition of reaching out and identifying with the masses, something that has always provided a platform for us to understand people’s real problems, hence collective solution finding,” said Rose Kayumba.

According to Kayumba, this occasion was also organized to shore support for the three RPF candidates as well as identifying with them the innovations in terms of development, peace and other major changes brought by the RPF-led government since it came to power.

“The good things brought by the RPF government talk for themselves. It replaced turmoil with peace, economic insecurity with increased investment, hence more revenue for the country. It’s imperative that Rwandans acknowledge this because all those good things are done for them,” she said.

The occasion was also graced by many RPF heavy weights in their different capacities, who freely joined the crowds in chanting and dancing to their party’s songs.

The masses were advised not to take what they have achieved for granted, instead to live responsibly and work hard for their country and their families.

The RPF candidates and other cadres were urged to continue the culture of identifying with the masses and working together as a team to promote peace and prosperity in Rwanda.
