It’s that time of the week again. We are yet to find out which of our contestants is one step closer to winning and which one is down to go home.
After Ammara’s emotional departure last week, the Top four, were quite calm and collected as they awaited the results.
Even as Lebo informed Adiona that it was time out, there was a collective sigh as though the finalists had finally accepted that there can only be one winner!
Adiona’s double bill included the awesome Céline Dion number, ‘The Greatest Reward’ and she put a unique spin on Rihanna’s, ‘Umbrella’.
Eric top 4 take 2 included Lionel Ritchie’s groovy, ‘All Night Long’ and the heart breaking Boys II Men classic ‘End Of The Road’.
As it turned out Eric, Trinah and Adiona were all labeled as not safe and made to wait through an excruciating commercial break before Lebo revealed what was securely tucked away inside the Alexander Forbes envelope.
Nicolette’s very expressive face eventually betrayed her calm exterior as Lebo called her up hinting at some; “very bad news”.
It was clear that she assumed, as she did last week, that she would be leaving. But the bad news was targeted at everyone else and Nicolette was just the messenger to inform her fellow contestants of who was not safe.
While for Trinah it was double or nothing with an emotional take on Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’, and a praiseworthy rendition of Mary’s ‘Shackles’.
Despite the overall sense of calm, the tension on the stage was so visible as Lebo reminded the contestants about what the judges had thought of all their performances and how they had rated the Top 4.
