Hadi makes poor start in Tour of Alberta

TEAM Rwanda rider Janvier Hadi endured a poor start at this year's Tour of Alberta on Wednesday as he finished in 106th position out of 113 competitors of stage one in Lethbridge, Canada.

TEAM Rwanda rider Janvier Hadi endured a poor start at this year’s Tour of Alberta on Wednesday as he finished in 106th position out of 113 competitors of stage one in Lethbridge, Canada.

The 23-year-old Hadi, who rides for Canada’s Garneau-Quebecor cycling team, clocked three hours, 34 minutes and 13 seconds, ten minutes and four seconds behind stage one Dutch winner Tom Dumoulin, who features for Team Giant-Shimanogia of the Netherlands.

Yesterday was stage two (Innisfail to Red Deer).

On Tuesday, Hadi finished 112th out of 118 contenders for the 4-km individual time trial race after using seven minutes and 23 seconds. Dumoulin won the race in exactly six minutes.

The six-day 700-kilometre Tour of Alberta, which is in its second year, started on Tuesday and will run until September 7 with the final stage in Calgary, Canada.
