THE 2014/15 National Football League season will kick off on September 20. The local football governing federation has said.

The Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) Secretary General Olivier Mulindahabi confirmed the development yesterday in a statement sent to all clubs urging them to submit all the needed documents regarding their players.

According to Mulindahabi, players will only be licensed if their clubs present a list of their players, national identity cards, contracts between the club and players, release letters in case of local players acquired by another club or international transfer certificates if the player has been featuring in a foreign league. Ferwafa has set September 8 as the submission deadline.

APR FC are defending champions after winning their 14th league title last season.

The military side finished the season top of the standings with 64 points and will represent Rwanda at next year’s Orange Africa Champions League as well as Cecafa Kagame Club Championship.

They also went ahead to win the Peace Cup title leaving rivals Rayon Sports to automatically win a spot for next year’s Africa Confederation Cup following their second-place finish last season.

General assembly

Meanwhile, members of Rwanda Football Federation will meet for the annual general assembly on September 10 at the football house in Remera.
