Mushimiyimana, 18, who has been featuring for AS Kigali since 2012, headed to Hungary on August 25 and started undergoing trials on August 28. He is expected to get the results of his tests in two weeks’ time.

The former U-17 starlet played a key role as AS Kigali won the Peace Cup in the 2012/2013 season and helped the City of Kigali-sponsored side to reach the round of sixteen in the Caf Confederations Cup this year.

Mushimiyimana is regarded as one of the promising midfielders in Rwanda. He has featured in the U-17 to U-20 teams, and received his first call-up to the senior Amavubi team for 2014 Fifa World Cup Brazil qualifier against Benin last year under former coach Eric Nshimiyimana.

Mushimiyimana, who is out of contract at AS Kigali said before departure to Hungary that he had been approached by different local teams but decided to try his luck in the paid ranks.

Gyori ETO FC founded in 1904, is best known for reaching the semi-finals of the European Cup semi-finals in 1965. They won the Hungarian league title in 2012/13 season and finished second in the 2013/14 campaign, behind champions Debrecen.
