APR’s hopes of retaining this year’s national football league title were dealt a major blow after being held to a 1-all draw by SC Kiyovu yesterday at Nyamirambo stadium in a game that was marred by several bookings by the day’s match official Issa Kagabo.

The nine time league champions came from behind to grab a 75th equalizer from Fuadi Ndikumana.

Striker Madjaliwa Niyonzima had put the Greens ahead on the 20th minute of the game as he shot home from a Claude Iranzi’s free kick.

In the game APR’s pair of Fredrick Onyango and Fuadi Ndikumana received matching orders from the day’s referee Issa Kagabo before a straight was also awarded to Kiyovu’s Marcel Lomami

Elsewhere, Atraco went five points clear of rivals APR as they overcame AS Kigali 2-1 earlier at Nyamirambo stadium.

Striker Abedi Mulenda scored a brace to keep his side in sight of winning this year’s league title. Mulenda also took his goal tally to eight goals scored this season.

Jimmy Gatete and Jean Lomami scored for Rayon Sport as the Blues recorded a 2-1win over Marines at Mironko grounds.

In Southern Province, Mukura hammered Kibuye 3-0 while relegation battling side Police shocked Electrogaz 1-0 at Camp Kigali grounds.
