RE: (The New Times, February 18). Fantastic work, Mr Deodate Mugenzi! I commend you for addressing the needs in our community using skills and research. You are doing the right thing by talking publicly about your innovation. You never know who will notice your work.
Just by reading the comments on the article, it looks like you are up to something given the levels of interest. My recommendation to you is to engage WhatsApp directly and you might be able to work on some interesting collaboration in the process.
Make sure when you do, you have a contract in place but they probably have good lawyers also so the key is for you to get more exposed to cutting edge stuff.
It is also possible that the feature is currently being worked on in their R&D or it exists already but yet to be made public for various reasons. They have lots of resources to get developers around the world to work on this feature if it has commercial gain so engage them directly if you can. The patent and all is good but it can take a considerable amount of time before you get the patent and by the time you get it, it might be irrelevant as technology development is now moving at the speed of light.
