France should help bring Genocide perpetrators on its soil to justice

Editor,

RE:French activists file case against Genocide suspect” (The New Times, January 3). France should close the respite granted to Genocide perpetrators. Besides the role it played in the planning and execution of the Genocide against the Tutsi, France has been a safe haven for Genocide perpetrators.

As examples, we can mention Laurent Serubuga, Dr Sosthene Munyemana, Pierre Tegera, Claude Muhayimana, Agathe Kanziga-Habyarimana and Michel Bakuzakundi just to mention a few.

I believe France should respect the provisions of Resolution 2150 of the UN Security Council which requests the International Community to fight against denial and trivialisation of genocide and to prosecute its perpetrators and those who continue to spread genocide ideology.
