The highly anticipated “Runtown Experience Kigali” concert is on today. Nigerian star Runtown and Ugandan dancehall sensation Sheebah Karungi will headline the concert at the Amahoro Stadium parking, today.
Sheebah arrived in Kigali on Thursday evening, while Runtown was expected to jet in on Friday night.
“Kigali are you ready for this kitty kat? Your favourite weekend is here! I hope you already have your tickets! … You don’t wanna miss this!” Sheebah posted on her Facebook page before setting off for Kigali.
Meanwhile, organisers have added Ugandan R&B singer and producer Toniks born Allan Ampeire, on the list of performers.
The show will also be graced by a host of local musical talents; Bruce Melodie, Charly and Nina, Active, and Emprah Jahboy.
According to initial plans, Sheebah and Runtown were supposed to both arrive in Kigali two days in advance of the show, to have enough time with the backup band, but that was not possible, with only Sheebah jetting in on Thursday evening. Organisers explained that Runtown had missed his scheduled flight and would be flying in Friday night instead.
A joint press conference that had been scheduled for Friday morning at the Kigali Marriot Hotel had to be postponed to evening hours.
Tickets go for Rwf 5,000 ordinary, 10,000 for VIP, and 25,000 for VVIP seating.
