Azam Rwanda Premier League champions Rayon Sports; under their new head coach Olivier Karekezi will begin their title defence against AS Kigali on September 29.

The 2017/18 league season fixtures were released by Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) yesterday. Record 16- league winners, APR FC, who finished third last season, will start their campaign with a tie against Sunrise FC on September 30.

Police FC, who finished in second place last campaign, will get their season off away to Etincelles while SC Kiyovu, relegated last season but were reinstated after promoted Isonga FC withdrew from playing in the topflight league, will start against Musanza FC on October 1.

Rayon Sports will take on SC Kiyovu on matchday 2 on October 14 at Kigali Stadium, while Jimmy Mulisa’s APR will be up against Marines a day before at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu.

The first round clash between Rayon Sports and archrivals APR FC will be on December 30 at Amahoro National Stadium and all eyes will be on ex-Amavubi captain Karekezi when he comes up against his former team.

The new campaign promises to be one of the most exciting and unpredictable seasons in years as most of the top side have been very busy in the transfer market signing new players.

Rayon Sports won the league title for the eighth time and will represent Rwanda in the next year’s CAF Champions League while APR FC, winners of the Peace Cup, will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
