Are they becoming professional beggars?

Jobless people in Kigali have turned begging into a profession. I have heard and seen a number of people trying to convince others to get into this activity that has not only embarrassed us before foreign visitors but also our beloved country.

Some become beggars and when they get money, they use it to buy prostitutes in many of the city’s suburbs. Beggars or street children do not want direct services.

That is to say, if he or she comes when is sick she will never follow you to the hospital. They prefer being given money to being taken to the clinic.

Some even go on saying that they come from far, and that they want money to take them back home. Watch out for these fellows.

This is Christmas and the number of beggars on the streets seems to be doubling, it seems like they are practicing rural urban migration just to beg.
