Gisagara will be seeking to go top of the men’s national volleyball league table when they play against Kibungo University (UNIK) and University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) at Amahoro Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
The league debutants are in second place with 22 points level with leaders IPRC-South, who have won more sets.
“We want to win the two games to lead the table and are looking forward to both games with a lot of optimism. It is going to be tough but we will give our best,” said Gisagara head coach Eric Gakwaya.
In the first game, Gisagara will play against defending champions UNIK, who are in sixth position with 15 points, before taking on seventh-placed UTB, who are 12th with 10 points.
In other matches, fourth-placed APR, with 18 points, will host table leaders IPRC-South at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
Action will continue on Sunday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium when bottom side Kigali Volleyball Club, with two points, host fifth-placed Rwanda Energy Group (REG), who have 18 points before the latter face third-placed Kirehe (22 points), while Kirehe will play against KVC in the last match.
Meanwhile, in the women category, defending champions Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) will play against St Aloys before taking on archrivals APR. Both matches will be played at Amahoro.
APR top the women league table with 12 points after four games, while RRA are second on nine points from three matches.
