Handball league defending champions Police and newcomers College ADEGI Gituza will lock horns today at Gituza ground in Gatsibo district in the battle for a top spot as both sides seek to keep their title hopes alive.

After four rounds of matches, Police are still unbeaten in the first place with 12 points, two points ahead of ADEGI, who have lost one game.

A win for Police would see them maintain their lead and increase their chances of winning a fourth league title in a row—last weekend, they defeated bitter rivals APR in a closely contested game 40-38.

“Last week’s win over APR increased our confidence and we shall go into tomorrow’s game eyeing nothing less than a win. ADEGI are a new team but they have proved to be a strong contender, so we expect a very difficult game,” said Police head Antoine Ntabanganyimana.

On the other hand, a win for ADEGI would see them go joint top despite having an inferior goal difference.
