EASTERN PROVINCE-BASED Etoile d’Est will be seeking to turn tables when they take on Kirehe FC in the second leg of the second division league semi finals on Wednesday.

Etoile lost 2-0 against Kirehe Football Club in their first leg of the semi-final fixture on Sunday.

Midfielder Abdul Karim Niyigena scored the opening goal in the 15th minute with a long range shot while Niyigena made it two in the second half through a penalty.

“We need to win this game against Kirehe at home. We will go into the game looking for nothing less than a win and I believe we will be able to achieve our target and move up to the top division. We have to correct our mistakes and score more than two goals to win the game,” Serugendo said.

Ahead of the second leg due on Wednesday, Jean Louis ‘Fils’ Ndemeye’s team (Kirehe FC) will be looking for a draw away to secure a spot in the final and effectively join the topflight football league.

The Eastern Province already has two teams in the first division, including Sunrise FC and Bugesera FC. Either Kirehe or Etoile d’Est will join the duo in the topflight league.

The other semi-final match between Pepiniere FC and Interforce FC ended in a goalless draw at Muhanga Stadium. The return leg will be played at FERWAFA turf on Wednesday.

The final of the 2016 Second Division League will be played on August, 7 and both finalists will earn automatic qualification to the 2016-17 national football league as the replacements for AS Muhanga and Rwamagana City, which were relegated to the second division.
